Soraya Ebrahimi is professioneel fotografe en is afgestudeerd aan Fotoacademie Amsterdam, richting Journalistiek Documentaire en Portretfotografie (2004). Daarvoor heeft zij de Masteropleiding fotografie aan de Kunstacademie in Iran gevolgd (1999) en is zij afgestudeerd aan de Kunstacademie in de richting Fotografie in Teheran, Iran (1989). Het interessegebied van Soraya Ebrahimi beslaat sociale documentaire fotografie. Reportages en portretten van mensen in relatie tot samenleving en multiculturaliteit.
