Tablehurst Farm
Organic farming (Environment)
Tablehurst Farm is a working farm with a farm shop and residential care places. It is predominantly a meat-producing farm, rearing beef cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Meat from Tablehurst has been a regular winner in the Soil Association Organic Food Awards. The farm is a part of the biodynamic community supported agriculture initiative known as 'Tablehurst and Plaw Hatch Community Farm' project, which first started in 1994.
Organic farming
Organic agriculture recognises the relationship between our environment, our health and the food we eat. As well as high animal welfare standards, organics avoids the use of pesticides and chemical fertilisers and helps to revitalize the earth. And, because organic farming releases less greenhouse gases than non-organic farming, it means a smaller carbon footprint for the environment. Lending in this sector varies from dairy and meat, to forestry and fruit.
