Triodos will provide the main part of the loan, up to 70% (the senior debt), while SIS will provide the remainder, up to 30% (the part that traditionally banks find they are unable to help with).

Applicants to the scheme will benefit from access to just one valuer and one set of solicitors to reduce the cost and make the process as easy as possible.

Potential applicants can approach either Triodos Bank or SIS.

Triodos Bank and SIS will review the borrowing request, ensure it meets their own borrowing criteria and pass a synopsis to the other organisation for review.

Provided the potential borrower meets the scheme's criteria, as part of the process they will be visited by Triodos Bank and/or SIS to help assess suitability for credit.

To keep the process simple Triodos Bank will instruct solicitors and valuers and deal with the customer on these matters. The borrower will have the option to choose the valuer.

Triodos Bank and SIS will set up their own loan agreement with the borrower and Triodos will have the first charge and SIS a second charge on the property.
