Who can open a Triodos Online Saver Plus Account?
You can open a Triodos Online Saver Plus if you’re 16 or over, with as little as £1 and save up to £250,000. If you want to save more than this limit, please contact us first to discuss. You can only open or hold one account (joint or sole) in any 12 month period.
Interest and tax exemptions
Interest is calculated daily and paid annually on 1 January. The interest rate is variable and includes a fixed introductory bonus for the first 12 months following account opening. After this period, the credit interest rate for the account will apply. Interest is taxable, but you may be eligible for exemption. You can apply for exemption by downloading the necessary forms from the HMRC website.
For eligible UK residents, complete and return form R85 Getting your interest without tax taken off .
For overseas residents, complete and return form R105 Application for a not ordinarily resident saver to receive interest without tax taken off .
Withdrawals
You can make unlimited notice-free withdrawals, but there are a limited number of three penalty-free withdrawals that can be made in any 12 month period, calculated from the date of account opening, and every anniversary of opening thereafter.
The excess withdrawal rate will apply during (and after) the bonus period in a calendar month where a withdrawal is made which exceeds the free annual withdrawal limit.
