Do you have a current account for personal customers?
We really appreciate that you would like to move your everyday banking to us but at present we do not have a current account for individuals.
Offering current accounts for personal customers is something we review constantly to see if it would be a suitable product for Triodos Bank to introduce - particularly given the costs that can be involved in setting up and maintaining this type of account. Other banks are able to offer ‘free’ current accounts in the hope people will then buy other financial products with them. We do not think this is a long term sustainable approach.
However if you have any personal savings you can really make a difference by making a conscious decision to move them to an ethical bank, such as Triodos. Switching current accounts is all very well but the power for people to really effect change in the banking system lies in what people do with their savings. For example, moving them to an ethical bank that tells depositors exactly how their savings are being used would begin to help eradicate the lack of transparency that lies at the heart of the established, unsustainable banking system.
