Edinburgh's fair trade café

Scotland and North East England

Comrie Dev Trust"The Trust is fortunate enough to have an excellent partner in Triodos Bank. They are interested in the relationship with their customers and offer more than just the finance a project needs. We shared a vision that the community buy-out could work, and their team’s determination to help make it happen was clear." - Alan Caldwell, Board Member Comrie Development Trust

Triodos responded to its growing number of business customers by opening its central Edinburgh office in 2006 - its first office in the UK outside Bristol.

Its main focus is to provide banking services including loans and overdrafts to values-led organisations.

Since 2006 our loan book has risen from £11m to over £37m by December 2009 and accounts for 15% of the UK loan book. The Scotland and North East England team works alongside the specialist Relationship Managers in the Renewables, Social, and Food, Farming and Trade teams based in Bristol. This enables us to extend and develop our relations with people and organisations in the area, so we can better meet the financial needs of local values-led enterprises.

We also introduce Personal Banking and Investment Banking opportunities to the specialist teams in Bristol.
