Projects seeking investment
Triodos Renewables invests in sustainable energy projects which:
- Are commercially viable, minimise financial risk by using mature renewable energy technologies, and operate on long-term contracts. The resources should be genuinely clean renewable technologies and so would not, for example, include municipal waste-to-energy schemes.
- Minimise environmental impact through sensitive siting, which is a key decision-making consideration for local planning councils, as well as being standard practice for a responsible developer.
- Minimise the impact on local communities by making sure noise and any visual impact are kept to an acceptable level. Triodos Renewables explores the most appropriate way to secure local community involvement for each project; and encourages investment from people who live close to projects as a way of participating in their local energy scheme.
- Demonstrate a meaningful public consultation process. The Company follows best practice guidelines as set out by the renewable energy agency for the South West (Regen SW).
The Triodos Group manages over EUR 1 billion in renewable energy investments through project finance facilities and equity investments in over 650 individual projects. Triodos Renewables and other equity funds within the Triodos Group are actively considering investments between £250,000 and £25m into projects in wind, hydro, biomass and solar energy across Europe. If you have a project for which you are seeking equity investment please contact Matthew Clayton at matthew.clayton@triodos.co.uk.
