Social Vision winner announced

Triodos Bank announces the winner of it’s social enterprise photography competition.

At an award ceremony held at St Martin in the Fields, London, Triodos Bank announced that the winner of it’s inaugural social enterprise photo competition was Circomedia.

Launched on 1 September 2008, in association with Social Enterprise Magazine, Triodos created the competition to find twelve images that best capture the work of social enterprise a vision of a more progressive approach to business that values people and the planet as well as profit.

Circomedia was delighted to be awarded the first place in the national photography competion. Circomedia submitted a photograph showing some of the young people they work with on a trapeze.  All twelve finalists will feature on a calandar which will be distributed with the Decemeber issue of the magazine.

The winning photographer, Andre Pattendon, will receive a prize of £1,000. And Circomedia will also win a prize of £500 and a business support package worth £500.  Carol Sherman, Artistic director for City Circus said " I'm so excited that some of the work we do with young people in Bristol has been recognised in this way.  It's fantastic and they will love seeing themselves in print!"  Andre Pattendon the photographer said "I'm thrilled that one of my photographs has been chosen as the winning entry, especially when the project is so worthwhile and is one that I have been personally involved with from the start."

The twelve finalist’s photographs will be on public display at a special exhibition at St Martins in the Fields, Trafalgar Square, London, until 17 December 2008.
