Who We Finance

Triodos Bank only lends to organisations which create real social, environmental and cultural value – charities, social businesses, community projects and environmental initiatives. Each one is a practical and well-grounded initiative dedicated to social aims which benefit the community, care for the environment, respect human freedom and develop individual talents and capacities. As part of our commitment to transparency, our Project List shows all the activities we finance in the UK and Ireland at the time of printing.

We publish details of all our lending because we believe you should be able to judge for yourself the claims we make about our ethical approach. This demonstration of transparency is unique amongst UK banks and has been a central part of our activity for over twenty years. Click here to download Inspiring Change, a comprehensive list of exactly how Triodos is investing your money.

Triodos Bank has pioneered a positive approach to lending for 25 years, choosing only and exclusively to lend to organisations that benefit people or the environment. At the same time Triodos Bank uses criteria to make decisions about who it will not lend to. By doing so, customers can be confident that the money they deposit will only be lent to organisations delivering genuine, positive change.

Triodos Bank has detailed its progressive approach to lending in the pdf below.
