Tilla Katenga – Customer Operations

590_Tilla

Tell us about your role & a bit about your career background.

I work in Customer Operations and the focus of my role is to administer and service customer accounts, act as point of contact for customers, understand their requirements, offer customer service solutions and ensure timely delivery of requested services. I come from a financial services administration background and have over 15 years of Pension Administration experience. In recent roles I have managed a portfolio of bespoke Pensions & Investments for High Net Worth individuals and also had a Client Relationship role in a firm of Chartered Wealth Managers.

Why did you choose to come and work at Triodos

After all the bad press the banks have attracted over the years and having worked for companies whose sole focus is Wealth creation at any cost; it was refreshing to come across a bank actively offering an innovative and sustainable alternative to the mainstream financial providers.

How does the work you do within your role/department contribute to the mission of Triodos and what we are trying to achieve?

Customer Operations is at the core of the Banks' activities; positive customer experiences and interactions are what drive the customer's perception of Triodos.

Can you describe what a typical day looks like within your role at Triodos Bank

A typical day would kick off with a team huddle to touch base with each other, review the stats, manage the resources available and prioritise our work load/targets for the day. The rest of the day is spent achieving those targets, liaising and updating each other on progress, laced with cups of tea and dashes of banter.

What makes Triodos Bank different to other companies you have worked for?

It is evident that Triodos lives and breathes its values and that there is a shared, common vision to make the world a better place. This is not just a slogan that's stuck on a wall for people to occasionally read, but is enforced through everything that Triodos does.

What does it feel like to work at Triodos?

Working at Triodos makes you feel that you are contributing to something bigger than yourself and making a difference in the world. With that comes a sense of fulfilment.

What do you like/love about the workplace and the people who work here?

Triodos has an enabling working environment that is safe, comfortable and appealing to work in. It is a living wage employer and has offices that include a range of physical spaces allowing for privacy, collaboration, or simply hanging out. And to top it off co-workers are relaxed and friendly!

How has Triodos Bank had an impact on you?

It has brought a more egalitarian focus to my perspective, eschewing the philosophy of living life solely on making a buck.

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy attending Church and the gym and love music - especially jazz. I also love documentaries, travel, wildlife and follow current, financial and economic affairs.

We are all different as individuals, but what do you think is the common thread through all Triodos Co-workers.

Our shared values align us to Triodos' larger goals and clarify our expectations and priorities.
