Introduction

 

The Colour of Money is Triodos Bank's customer newspaper. It was launched in 2010 to provide news and views from the bank, information on the organisations we finance, and information on the sustainability sectors we finance. The magazine has the same look and feel across The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and United Kingdom, but the content is produced by co-workers in each branch.

In September 2011, a year from its launch, we asked for readers' views on the Colour of Money in an international survey of our readers. The results were very encouraging, with positive feedback almost across the board both for the magazine and for Triodos Bank more broadly. Our readers also helped point out some areas where we can improve the magazine. We're working on these now and hope to be able to incorporate the changes in future issues of the Colour of Money. You can the main outcomes of the results below.

About the survey

Over 3,300 respondents from Belgium (33%), The Netherlands (32%), Spain (18%) and United Kingdom (17%) completed the questionnaire. Of these respondents, 88% had read the latest issue and 12% had not.

Appreciation of Triodos Bank

In the survey, we asked our respondents to describe the bank, and to indicate their appreciation of the bank.

  • 98% of all respondents are positive or very positive about Triodos Bank.

Overall appreciation of the Colour of Money

  • 83% of our readers are positive or very positive about the Colour of Money in general.

Reader comment: "The Colour of money is a fabulous read: really inspiring and has re-confirmed how much I feel Triodos' values reflect how I feel money should be invested more frequently/on a larger scale. It makes me exceedingly happy that I've chosen to invest with Triodos."
