Philip Bazin to Judge 2017 Green Energy Awards

Environment team manager at Triodos Bank selected to join expert panel to champion sustainable energy in the south west of England

Philip Bazin, environment team manager at Triodos Bank, has been chosen as a judge for this year's Green Energy Awards, an annual celebration recognising the projects and companies creating positive change in the energy sector across the UK. The event will be held at the Assembly Rooms in Bath on 28 November 2017 and is part of a programme including the Renewable Futures conference and exhibition.

Philip joins a select group of sustainability influencers and innovators chosen to judge award nominees. Fellow judges include:

  • Lord Robin Teverson, member of the House of Lords
  • Cathy McClay, head of commercial electricity at National Grid
  • Ashley Ibbett, director of clean electricity at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
  • Steve Atkins, DSO transition manager at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks
  • Sue Barr, environment and external affairs manager at OpenHydro

The awards begin with a drinks reception and a three course, locally-sourced dinner. Presentations will be made by the panel of judges for categories with the following criteria:

  • Best Sustainable Energy Scheme
  • Most Proactive Public Sector Organisation
  • Installer of the Year
  • Best Business Innovation
  • South West Champion 
  • South West Community Energy Initiative
