The following restrictions apply during the early release period:

  • CHAPS and Faster Payments will have a transaction and day limit of £300. There is no limit on the amount that can be paid into the account
  • Faster Payments authorised before 16.30 on any business day should arrive in the beneficiary's account before the end of that day, and may arrive within a few hours of being authorised. You should always allow until the next business day for a payment to arrive. Over the coming months these timescales will shorten and payments will arrive sooner
  • The option to opt out of certain text message alerts will be unavailable. Please see our Terms and Conditions for our Text Message Service for details
  • Direct Debits and Standing Orders will not be available
  • A cheque book will not be available
  • The Current Account Switch Service will not be available
  • The feature to use the current account as a nominated account on another Triodos account will not be available
  • If you already have Triodos Internet Banking log in details for an existing savings account these will not be able to be used for the current account. Separate log in details will be supplied

We will notify you in advance when the early release period ends and these restrictions no longer apply.

Eligibility criteria

In order to be able to apply for the account you must be:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • A resident in the UK (including BFPO addresses)
  • Not subject to any County Court Judgements (CCJs)
  • Has not filed for bankruptcy, a Debt Relief Order (DRO) or an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) in the last 5 years

Important information

  • We do not offer telephone banking but there is telephone support available via our contact team from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday (Telephone support for lost and stolen cards and card fraud is provided 24/7, through our standard contact number 0330 355 0355)
  • We do not offer any unarranged overdrafts. Payments that would take the account overdrawn without an agreed overdraft facility will be unpaid. (There are still situations where an unarranged overdraft may occur, see our Terms and Conditions for more details.)
  • There will be no credit interest paid on your balance
  • It is an online account so we have no branch network available

**Effective Annual Rate (EAR) is the annual cost of the overdraft, taking into account that interest is charged to the account monthly.
