"The peatlands of Caithness and Sutherland are home to amazing wildlife, from soaring golden eagles to wading birds like greenshanks, and equally importantly they store more than 400 million tonnes of carbon. Unfortunately they haven’t always been treated well. Vast areas have been damaged by draining and ploughing the ground to establish commercial forestry plantations, causing losses of wildlife and peatland. Now, with the help of Triodos Bank and its customers, RSPB and its partners are restoring this precious habitat at Forsinard Flows nature reserve, our largest in the UK. Work to remove damaging forestry and to rewet the peat on a truly impressive scale is underway, and we hope to see this area flourish once again".

Financing change. Changing finance

At Triodos Bank, we believe that profit doesn't need to be at the expense of the world's most pressing environmental problems.

That's why we finance organisations from organic food and farming businesses and pioneering renewable energy enterprises, to recycling companies and nature conservation projects.

*The donation can only be paid if applicants complete either an online application form and select 'Partner – RSPB' in the 'How did you hear about Triodos Bank?' field, or a paper application form and write 'Partner – RSPB' in the 'How did you hear about Triodos Bank' box. The donation will be paid after the balance of the account reaches £100. This offer is limited to one donation per new customer (one donation made in the event of joint account opening), not one per account opening. Triodos reserves the right to decline any application. This offer may be changed or withdrawn without notice at any time.

General Terms and Conditions for personal savings accounts, and any specific conditions for the account also apply.
