How to bank with Triodos

This section explains how to set up and use a Triodos Current Account.

The Triodos Current Account is an online only account. This means that you have the convenience of managing your account using internet banking and our mobile banking app.

Payments in to your account can be made by bank transfer or cheque. There is currently no facility for paying cash into the account but this service is under review.

Our Contact Team can help you with general queries during our opening hours but telephone banking is not provided on the current account.

Internet banking

You are provided with a digipass device and PIN once your account has been opened. These are used to securely log in to internet banking, along with a security word. This security word is a memorable word chosen by you.

In internet banking, you can:

  • Set up a regular or one off payment
  • View, add and manage payees
  • View your balances and statements
  • Change your personal details, such as address or contact details
  • Amend your mailing and text message alert settings

New customers are automatically registered for internet banking on account opening. If you are an existing savings customer with Triodos the way you access internet banking changes to use a digipass and security word, instead of your username and password. 

If you block your internet banking access you can contact us to reinstate it.

Mobile banking app

You can choose to download our mobile banking app to enable you to do your banking on the move.

In the mobile app you can:

  • Make payments to existing and new payees - new payees can be added via the payee screen in the app
  • Check balances and transactions
  • See the businesses and organisations that we lend to on the interactive 'Know Where Your Money Goes' map

If you block your mobile banking app access, you can reset the app by re-downloading it. You will need your digipass to do this.

Text Message Alerts

If you have provided us with a mobile number we will sometimes communicate with you by text message. We would also like to send you text message alerts when certain activity has happened on your account. To change your text message alert settings log into Internet Banking and go to 'Account Profile, Mailing Settings'.

Cashpoints

You can use your Triodos debit Mastercard at cashpoint machines to check your balance, withdraw cash and request a mini statement wherever the Mastercard or LINK logo is displayed. For more details see LINK.
