By completing an application for any of our accounts online you are automatically registered for Internet Banking and can manage your account online.
If your application was made by post then Internet Banking access is available for the following accounts:
- Triodos Saver
- Triodos Cash ISA
- Triodos Regular Saver
- Triodos Fixed Regular Saver
- Triodos Online Cash ISA (TOISA)
You can also access the Triodos Right Start Saver account online but you can't make payments from this account.

You can open a Triodos Ethical Junior Cash ISA account, and transfer the funds from your Right Start Saver into it, subject to the Junior ISA allowance of £4,260 for the 2018/2019 tax year.
If you wish to change the details of your nominated account, you must send us a signed, written instruction by post. You are not able to amend your nominated account using Internet Banking. The instruction must include the details of the new nominated account (including the account name, six digit sort code and eight digit account number) and must be signed in accordance with the signature form previously returned to us. For joint accounts, the instruction must be signed by both account holders.
The new nominated account must be a personal sterling account held in your name(s) with another UK bank/building society or an existing Triodos UK account that allows you to transfer in funds.
We will not be able to process any written instructions unless we hold your signature on our records.
If you have not returned the signature reply form enclosed with your welcome letter sent to you when you first opened the account, please do so with your request to amend your nominated account. We may send further documents for you to sign to your registered address with us or request documents from you as an additional security measure before we will process your request.
If you cannot locate the signature reply form and you are still living at the address we have on our records then please send us a Secure Message from within internet banking to request a signature reply form. We will send this to your registered address for you to return to us together with your written request to amend your nominated account. If we do not hold a signature for you on our records and you have moved from the address we hold for you on our records you will need to write to us with your new address and nominated account details enclosing one document from list A and one document from list B.
A Identity Verification B Address Verification
Original document from HM Revenue & Customs, Department for Work & Pensions, or other Government Agency showing name and current address. This could be evidence of entitlement to housing or child benefit, student loan, tax credit or pension (please note P60 or P45 cannot be accepted). Original utility bill showing name and current address, dated within the last three months (please note that mobile phone bills cannot be accepted).
Original bank, building society or credit card statement showing name and current address, dated within the last three months.
Certified copy of valid passport. Certified copy of full or provisional photocard driving licence, or full old style driving licence, showing current address.
The person undertaking the certification should be a professional person covered by money laundering regulations. For example, a person working in financial services, law or accountancy. The certifier must confirm they have seen the original, sign and date the copy, and also provide their name, professional position, work address and work telephone number. They may be contacted for verification. Original local authority council tax bill (valid for the current year).
Original current mortgage statement, council rent card or tenancy agreement.
From the age of 16, the account must be held in the name of the young person. We’ll be in touch at the time to let you know what you need to do.
Who can open an account for a child?
Both our Right Start Saver and Ethical Junior Cash ISA can be opened by an adult with parental responsibility for a child. A child must be aged between 7 and 15 to open a Right Start Saver for themselves, or 16 or 17 to open an Ethical Junior Cash ISA themselves.
If you have an online account, you can access your savings account 24-hours a day, seven-days a week. Simply log in and arrange to transfer money to your nominated account(s). Your transfer will then take place after your notice period (where applicable.)
Within a couple of days from when your online only account is opened, or an existing account has been set up with internet banking, we'll send your username by email, and your unique password by post. Please contact us if they don't arrive.
If you open a new account, and you already have internet banking access for another account, you can use your existing username and password.
Right Start Saver accounts are for people aged 18 and under. We’ll be in touch when the account holder turns 18. If we don’t hear back from you, we’ll close the account and transfer the funds to another Triodos account, until we receive your instructions.

You can change an existing Triodos savings account to a different type of Triodos savings account.

On receipt of a completed request, we will change the type of savings account you hold, the balance of your account and your account number will remain the same. We will write to you to confirm when we have actioned your request.You can change your existing Triodos savings account to one of the following types of Triodos savings accounts:
- Triodos Online Saver

- Triodos Regular Saver
- Triodos Saver
Changes to a different type of savings account are not permitted from Triodos Ethical Savings Bonds, Triodos Right Start Saver, Triodos Fixed Regular Saver, Triodos ISAs, Community Investor, High Interest Cheque Account, Personal Savings Account, Social Investor Cheque Accounts and SIPP Deposit Accounts.

If you think that you have had an account with Triodos in the past please gather as much information as possible relating to the account e.g. account number, type of account, date of the last transaction. If you have any statements of the account please have them to hand and call us, we can then investigate for you and advise you of the next steps. In some cases, we may request identification documents from you to release funds from the account.
Faster Payments authorised on any day (including weekends) should arrive in the beneficiary's account within two hours of being authorised. You should always allow until the next business day for a payment to arrive.
Faster Payment instructions received by post before 2.00pm on any business day will be received by the beneficiary the same day.
You can make payments from your postal account by sending us a completed Triodos Bank withdrawal request form or a letter with your payment instructions. Once the notice period for your account has passed, we can then transfer funds by:
• Electronic transfer to a specified account at another UK bank
• CHAPS to another bank account within the UK
• international electronic transfer to a bank account in another country.
We will automatically log all requests for withdrawal, for the required notice period on your account.
To make an international transfer to a Triodos sterling account you will need to supply the information below to the sending bank:

Please ensure you provide all of the above details, especially the reference or the deposit may not reach your Triodos account.
The details above are only applicable for Triodos sterling accounts. If your Triodos account is not in sterling please contact us and do not use the above details, as the payment will be rejected.
Our Individual Savings Account (ISA) is available only to people aged 16 or over, who are resident in the UK. All our other accounts are open to people living outside the UK. You need to make the opening deposit in sterling, and provide proof of your ID and address.
No, you can only open or hold one account (joint or sole) in any 12 month period.
You can see how many withdrawals have been made by checking the account settings page in Internet Banking. This page will also show you how many free withdrawals are left, your current rate of interest, and your bonus period start and end date.
When you pay funds into your Account, your funds will start earning interest from the day the funds are paid into your Account.
The signature reply form is used to help us verify your signature in the rare instances when you may need to write to us to make a change that you can't do yourself within internet banking. If you do not return the form, and we do not hold a copy of your signature, we will not be able to act on any written instructions. Please note that the Online Saver Plus is an online-only account, and completing and sending us the signature reply form does not mean you can then manage your account via post.
A nominated account is an account in your name(s) with either another bank/building society, or an existing Triodos account that allows you to transfer funds.
You need a nominated account for when applying for one of our accounts online and your opening deposit must be made by electronic transfer from your nominated account. Also if you want to transfer money from your account online, you must do so to your nominated account.
Yes, cheque books are not issued automatically as we understand that some customers do not require them. If you would like to order one please call our contact team on 0330 355 0355 to request one or send a secure message in internet banking.
If you are eligible to receive interest without tax deducted you will need to complete an R85 form (or R105 form if you are not resident in the UK). You can download these forms from the HMRC website. Please return your completed form to us, using our Freepost address:

All transactions, both to and from the Online Saver Plus account must be carried out by electronic transfer.As this is an online only account you cannot pay into your account by cheque. If any cheques are received by us, they will be returned to you. Funds relating to cheque deposit at R.B.S. /NatWest Bank will be returned by faster payments directly to the bank account on which they were drawn.
If your existing Triodos account is an online account, or if you've set up internet banking access, you can transfer money to an Online Saver Plus using internet banking (and subject to the notice period on that account). If you've not set up internet banking access for your existing Triodos account then you can either apply to do that below or alternatively please write to us with instructions for making the transfer.
