Livability envisages a transformed society where disabled and disadvantaged people can live life to the full. Inspired by Christian values they work with disabled and disadvantaged people to achieve real choice, independence and opportunity. Livability can trace its roots back to the 1850's and two organisations founded by Victorian philanthropists. They have 17 homes providing care to 300 adults, and as well as supported living schemes they have schools for both 13-19 year-olds and 18-25 year olds. Finance from Triodos has helped facilitate the purchase and refurbishment of a property to allow residents to relocate from one of their existing care homes. This will help provide a better standard of accommodation and care and allow the potential expansion of services into other areas.
