About the role

The Opportunity:

We are now looking for a Head of Retail Banking to join us at TBUK on a permanent fulltime basis, this is a unique, exciting, and rare opportunity for the right candidate to develop and implement Triodos Bank’s Retail Banking strategy in the UK to grow customer numbers and deposits, and maintain our goal as being the main relationship bank for sustainability-conscious consumers. You will work collaboratively with international colleagues across five countries on the development of the product range and key investments to support the businesses development.

Demonstrating a strong personal commitment to the mission and values of the bank, you will have the responsibility of ensuring the highest levels of customer service, experience, and engagement for both new and existing customers from point of enquiry through to application processed via our in-house contact centre, and other departments of retail banking.

You will also have responsibility for the Firm’s overall compliance with the Client Asset Sourcebook (CASS) rules ensuring that the CASS footprint of the organisation safeguards customer assets to the highest standards as well as acting as the Firm’s Complaints Officer ensuring that there is appropriate resolution which puts customers at the heart of what we do.

The Head of Retail Banking is a member of the UK Core Management Committee, and is also Chair of the Product Governance Committee, Vice-Chair of the Non-Financial Risk Committee and a member of the Asset and Liability Committee and Operations Committee.

This role offers the benefits of hybrid working and has an excellent degree of autonomy and scope, however there would be an expectation for you to be in our Bristol Head office on a regular basis to support the Retail banking teams and collaborate with key members of the Senior management team and other colleagues across the business.

What we are looking for:

To be a successful in this role you will have extensive retail banking experience, and ideally hold membership and qualification from Chartered Institute of Banking / London Institute of Banking & Finance, a background in the retail distribution of financial services products and experience of working to challenging sales targets and objectives is imperative for this opportunity

You will have a clear understanding of core retail FS markets (including current accounts and cards, savings, investments, and mortgages) and be able to build the products, services, and sales strategies to take advantage of this. Experience of the design, delivery and distribution of retail financial services and products is essential, and you will possess a sound knowledge of the regulatory environment.

As part of the Senior Management Team of TBUK, you will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire, taking an inclusive approach and responsibility for both your teams and your own development. Proven capability in managing retail banking projects through to successful delivery and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences including media, will be required.

This role is designated as a Senior Manager Function within the Senior Manager Regime under the category SMF 18 ““other overall responsibility” function” because the role is a direct report of the CEO and has a high level of responsibility and the role holds ultimate responsibility for the performance of the Retail Banking operation, which is one of the key business lines for Triodos Bank.
