Agora Microfinance Zambia

Agora Microfinance Zambia (AMZ) started operations in 2011 and specifically targets low-income rural households, through its branches in the Mongu and Mumbwa districts. These districts show the highest poverty rates and access to finance is limited. The loan clients are self-employed or family workers in low-income households engaged in small livelihoods activities, mainly subsistence agriculture, small-scale processing and fishery, as well as in retail trade and services. 99% of them are first-time borrowers. The loan provided by Hivos-Triodos Fund enables AMZ to realise its growth ambitions.
