Sending payments: when will my payment be received?

Faster Payments: Usually received within two hours, but may take until the end of the next business day.
CHAPS payments: If authorised by 2pm on a business day, they'll be in the beneficiary's account by the end of that day.
International payments: Deadline is 1pm. The time it takes to receive these payments depends on where the money is being sent. Allow up to 10 business days for funds to arrive outside Europe.

When will I receive payments?

Internal transfers: Usually available immediately after you move your money in the app or Internet Banking.
Faster Payments & standing orders: Typically arrive within an hour, but allow until the end of the next business day.
CHAPS payments: Usually arrive within an hour, but can take up to the end of the business day.
International payments: Timings vary, depending on the bank or organisation sending the payment.
Cheques by post: Funds available on the third business day after deposit. For example, if you send a cheque to us by post, and it's paid into your account on a Wednesday (Transaction date or T), the funds will be available for withdrawal on Monday (T+3), although they are not cleared funds until the end of the following Thursday (T+6).

What are the charges?

CHAPS payments (UK): £20
International payments: £25 (if both you and the recipient pay your own charges).
