The Opportunity:

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Crime Risk Manager to join us at our Bristol Head Office. This is a full-time role available on a 12-month fixed term contract basis and offers the benefits of a flexible hybrid working. Typically, this would require 1-2 days in our Bristol office per week with a choice of working from home on the other days (following an initial induction period).

The Financial Crime Risk Manager is a first line of defence role sitting in TBUK’s Operations department. It provides specialist knowledge and hands on support to operational teams and is instrumental in ensuring that TBUK’s controls remain fit for purpose, prevent crime, and protect our customers in an evolving landscape.

The role develops and supports a programme of continuous improvement to our processes and controls as well as supporting the reporting into external and internal stakeholders on TBUK Financial Crime data.

As Financial Crime Risk Manager you will have specific responsibility for acting as delegated UK Product Owner for specific components of the financial crime change programme, leading on and delivering local initiatives as well as working with Group colleagues on cross-branch objectives. You will support the Senior Financial Crime Risk Manager by ensuring key deliverables are on track and provide appropriate escalation where required.

Key responsibilities will require you to:

  • Ensure that financial crime policies are understood and embedded in the First Line of Defence.
  • Act as Delegated ‘Product Owner’ for specific components of the financial crime change programme.
  • Proactively identify emerging threats and trends through analysis of TBUK alerts and external industry data.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise efficiency and effectiveness of TBUK operational teams and work with UK and Group colleagues to implement changes.
  • Review complex and escalated fraud cases, considering both internal positions and external regulations and guidelines to generate appropriate outcomes in an ever-changing landscape.
  • Maintain links with other parts of the Triodos Group, TBUK departments and external parties (banks, regulators, industry experts) to maintain awareness of the evolving Financial Crime landscape and best practice in this domain.
  • Comply with all regulatory obligations and internal governance to help ensure ethical behaviour, working to deliver good customer outcomes and avoiding foreseeable harm in line with Triodos’ practice of putting customers at the heart of what we do.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll have relevant experience working in the field of financial crime, preferably in a retail banking environment supporting both personal and business customers.

First-hand experience with technical solutions used to identify and prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions and fraud will be needed combined with the ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment.

You will be all to communicate effectively at all levels and will possess excellent stakeholder management skills combined with the ability to communicate complex issues and ideas in simple terms.

What we offer

In return for your hard work and expertise, you will receive a Full-time equivalent salary of between £42,000 -£48,000 depending on experience, plus access to our extensive benefits package, where most of our benefits are non-contributory.
