Sheriffhales Solar CIC owns a ground-mounted solar PV (photovoltaic) farm generating renewable electricity, reducing the UK’s reliance of fossil fuels and decarbonising the electricity grid. Sheriffhales Solar CIC is in turn wholly owned by a not-for-profit community benefit society, Sheriffhales Community Energy Ltd, which is fully owned by its members. Any surplus income generated from the solar farm is used to benefit the community.
