To help do that we’ve introduced our Refer a Friend Scheme which is an easy and inspiring way for our existing customers to recommend us, be thanked for doing so, and to thank new customers for joining Triodos Bank.
To thank our existing customers, we will make a £25 donation to a charity on their behalf for every friend they recommend. Similarly, we will say thank you to all new customers who are referred and open a personal current account offering them a gift of a £60 voucher from one of our business customers, or by making a charity donation on their behalf. New customers can choose which reward they receive.

If you think that you have had an account with Triodos in the past please gather as much information as possible relating to the account e.g. account number, type of account, date of the last transaction. If you have any statements of the account please have them to hand and call us, we can then investigate for you and advise you of the next steps. In some cases, we may request identification documents from you to release funds from the account.

You can recommend as many friends to Triodos Bank as you wish. However, we will only make up to a maximum of 30 donations to your chosen charity within a 12-month period for every eligible friend you refer. See terms and conditions for full details. They are leading experts in referral programmes and regularly support other banks and regulated businesses with Refer a Friend schemes. Triodos want to offer a safe and easy experience when recommending their friends and MLP help provide that service.
Our Refer a Friend scheme is open to all Triodos customers, over the age of 18 years. For you and your friend to be eligible for a thank you gift your friend will need to open a Triodos personal current account and deposit £100 into new account within 30 days. New customers, the one being referred, needs to have completed their account opening within 60 days of registering for our Refer a Friend Scheme.
To support us in delivering our Refer a Friend Scheme, we’ve partnered with Marketing Lounge Partnership (MLP) who are providers of referral platform services. To participate in the scheme existing customers can either use the link send from Triodos Bank or simply visit join.triodos.co.uk. The link/website will prompt you to register with MLP and agree to the Refer a Friend Scheme terms and conditions to participate.
Once you’ve registered for the scheme, you can refer your friends in a variety of ways, for example by simply and easily sharing a message via social media. If the friend you refer is new to Triodos Bank UK and opens their personal current account and deposits £100 within 30 days you will both receive a thank you gift from us.
No, we won’t contact your friend as we don’t ask you for any of their contact details. When you’ve registered for our Refer a Friend Scheme, you will have a unique link to share with your friend. The link opens join.triodos.co.uk where your friend can register their details and apply for their Triodos personal current account.

No. If you have applied for your Account by sending your application to us in the post, your opening deposit must be made by cheque. The cheque must be drawn on your personal sterling account held in your name. And made payable to yourself. We can also accept counter cheques, as long as they've been correctly endorsed on the back by the other bank. Your bank will need to stamp, sign and date the back of the cheque and confirm that the funds are drawn from an account in your name.
When you apply for an account online your opening deposit can only be transferred electronically from your nominated account. Please do not send a cheque.
Data is shared between Triodos Bank UK and MLP only for the purposes of fulfilling the scheme. Disclosure to MLP is for the purposes of providing processing and fulfilment services on behalf of Triodos. We’re taking a phased approach of inviting customers (by email) to participate in the scheme in order to sustainably manage our operationals in opening new personal current accounts.
