An online instant access account with three penalty-free withdrawals a year

Here are the key features of the Triodos Online Saver Plus account.

What is the interest rate?

Interest rate is 2.20% gross*/AER** variable.
Excess withdrawal interest rate is 0.10% gross*/AER** variable. This rate will be paid in the month a withdrawal is made when the annual penalty-free withdrawal limit has been exceeded.
Interest is calculated daily and paid annually into your Online Saver Plus account on 1st January.

Can Triodos Bank change the interest rate?

Yes – the interest rate is variable and can therefore change at any time. Please refer to section 14 of our Terms and Conditions for personal savings accounts.

What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit?

£1,022.00

This estimate is based on £1,000 being deposited at account opening, no further deposits or withdrawals being made and interest being added to the account annually. This projection is for illustrative purposes only and does not take into account your personal circumstances.

How do I open and manage my account?

Account holders must be aged 16 or over.
To open an account the account holders must be UK residents.
The account can only be opened in the Triodos Mobile Banking App.
The account can be opened in sole or joint names.
You can have only one Online Saver Plus account (joint or sole) in any 12-month period.
If you close your Online Saver Plus account, you will not be eligible to apply for/or be added to any other Online Saver Plus account until 12 months after the date of closure.
The minimum opening deposit is £1 and must be made by electronic transfer from the nominated account. Once the opening deposit is made, funds can be paid in electronically from any account.
There is no maximum balance.
The account can be managed in Internet Banking and in the Triodos Mobile Banking App.

- You will need to provide details of a nominated account for payment of the opening deposit and for receipt of all withdrawals. This must be a sterling account with another UK bank or building society or another Triodos Bank UK account in your name.

Can I withdraw money?

Yes, this is an easy access account, no notice for withdrawals is required and withdrawals can be made at any time.
There is no limit on withdrawals, but there is a limited number of 3 penalty-free withdrawals allowed per 12 month period. The 12 month period starts from the date the account is opened and each anniversary of opening thereafter. The excess withdrawal rate will apply on the balance in a calendar month where a withdrawal is made which exceeds the annual penalty-free withdrawal limit.
Withdrawals can only be made online to the nominated account, or another Triodos Bank UK account in your name.
Closure is allowed at any time.

What is the interest rate?

Interest rates is 1.80% gross*/1.81% AER** variable.
Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly into your Online Saver account.

Can Triodos Bank change the interest rate?

Yes – the interest rate is variable and can therefore change at any time. Please refer to section 14 of our Terms and Conditions for personal savings accounts.

At least 14 days’ notice in writing will be given of any reduction to the interest rate on this account.

What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit?

£1,018.15

What is a nominated account and why do I need it?

A nominated account is an account in your name(s) with either another bank or building society, or an existing Triodos account that allows you to transfer funds.

You need a nominated account when applying for one of our accounts online, and your opening deposit must be made by electronic transfer from your nominated account.

Also if you want to transfer money from your account online to a bank other than Triodos, you must do so to your nominated account. If you want to change your nominated account we need your instructions in writing for security. That's why we need you to return the signature reply form at the start, so we have a record of your signature.

Can I open more than one account?

You can have only one Online Saver Plus account in any 12-month period, but you can hold more than one of our other saving accounts at the same time.

How will I know how many penalty-free withdrawals I have made from my Online Saver Plus account?

You can see how many withdrawals have been made from your Online Saver Plus account by checking the account settings page in Internet Banking. This page will also show you how many free withdrawals are left and your current rate of interest.

To find your account settings, log in to Internet Banking and select ‘old Internet Banking’ then ‘Account Profile’ and ‘Account Settings’. Select ‘Online Saver Plus’ from the drop-down menu where you’ll see your withdrawal terms and limits information.

When do I start earning interest on my deposit?

When you pay funds into your Account, your funds will start earning interest from the day the funds are paid into your Account.
