Tell us about your role and a bit about your career background.

I am the Investment Operations Team Leader, and my team oversees all investment administrative products for Triodos Bank UK. Currently, we manage a total of six funds to ensure that all day-to-day trades are executed in a timely manner without any errors. In case any errors arise, we promptly escalate them.

Additionally, we handle stocks and shares ISA transfers in and out of Triodos Bank. We maintain regular communication with customers, ensuring they are kept informed throughout the process. If any issues arise, we promptly inform them.

It is also our responsibility to ensure that the investment accounts associated with the investment product reconcile smoothly on a daily basis. We ensure that client assets and funds are accurately accounted for, thereby avoiding regulatory breaches.

So, that provides a bit of background on what we do as a team. I've been in the financial industry for almost a decade, and I've been here at Triodos for almost nine months now. Time has flown by, and I'm thoroughly enjoying my role.

What aspect of your role or our company's mission resonates with you the most?

I would say the mission to help create a society that protects and promotes quality of life and human dignity for all.

How do you stay motivated and engaged in your work, especially during challenging times?

For me, I just try to stay as calm as possible. I strongly believe that there is a solution to every challenge. That's my mindset. I encourage that within my team as well. I encourage my team members to seek assistance when needed, because there are loads of knowledgeable individuals at Triodos, both within our team and across the company.

What do you like/love about the workplace and the people who work here?

I love the fact that everyone is very respectful and welcoming. From day one when I started here, I felt very welcomed which felt pretty good.

What do you imagine the future to look like for you at Triodos? Or what do you see in the future for you and Triodos?

Things are looking promising for me. I'm thoroughly enjoying the challenge, especially since I joined Triodos when the Investment Operation team had just migrated from a different platform. Everything was completely new, which brought its own set of challenges and opportunities. We're currently at a phase where things are starting to stabilise.

I'm now looking forward to start having a greater influence on our processes, provide more oversight, and foster the growth of the team. My aim is to shape the investment team into a desirable department that everyone wants to be a part of. I also want the Investment Operations team to be highly desirable area within the organisation.

Furthermore, on a personal level, I aspire to continue my own growth and expand my knowledge of the financial products we offer. Additionally, I aim to enhance my leadership skills as this will be crucial as I progress in my role.

What would you say to a friend thinking of joining Triodos?

I would encourage that they apply. In my own experience I can confidently say that I have no regrets. Right from the beginning, I've received consistent support from my line manager and colleagues. I genuinely feel that my opinions matter and are taken into consideration.
