Last year, more people than ever trusted us with their money. Not only does this show there is a growing demand for sustainable banking, it means that together we had even greater positive impact in 2025. Across five key transition themes - energy, food, nature and resources, society, and wellbeing – we're supporting change that builds a better world for us all.

Our UK 2025 Annual Report brings to life the positive changes that the money in our customer's savings accounts have helped to finance. Here's what we did, together:

Energy transition

Our vision is for societies to move away from fossil fuel-based energy production to clean energy generation that is accessible and affordable for everyone. In 2025, we financed 95 projects in the energy sector. Through our share in these projects, over 80 kilo tonnes of CO2e emissions were avoided – this is equivalent to approximately 550 million kilometres travelled by car. Based on our share of the financing, the total capacity of power generated in these projects was 325 megawatts, which is the equivalent a year’s worth of electricity for 63,000 homes.

Food transition

A successful food transition will help restore balance in nature, promote healthy diets for everyone, and bring organic practices to all farmlands. In 2025, we financed 74 farms that managed approximately 26,400 acres of organic farmland. We estimated that this results in around 12.3 million organic meals.

Resource transition

Our approach to the resource transition is to go a step further than only preventing damage to nature. We actively help to restore biodiversity and ecosystems. This theme includes projects that develop nature, the forestry sector, and sustainable property, where we finance buildings and renovations that meet high sustainability standards. In 2025 we financed nature-based solutions that together captured around 11,350 tonnes of CO2, which is equal to at least 597,000 mature trees.

Societal transition

We strive towards a society rooted in solidarity and collaboration, where businesses and non-profit organisations have a positive impact on disadvantaged people and communities. This theme includes financing affordable housing, youth projects, and fairtrade sectors. In 2025, we financed 138 social housing projects which provided accommodation for around 16,500 people.

Wellbeing transition

The wellbeing transition focuses on projects that promote physical and mental health, self-development, self-expression and healthy relationships. This includes healthcare, arts and culture, education, sports and recreation. In 2025, we financed 41 projects in the cultural sector, and supported care homes providing dignified, safe homes for 3,070 older people.
