18-09-2018 |

Triodos Bank has appointed Rob Keegan to head up a team supporting small- and medium-sized (SME) enterprises throughout the UK. With 29 years' experience in SME banking, Rob joins Triodos Bank at its Bristol headquarters.  He was previously RBS Director of Corporate Banking in South Wales.

Triodos Bank's SME team provides term loans and overdrafts of up to £500,000 to businesses and charities that are creating positive social, cultural or environmental impact. Recent examples include organic hair brand Tabitha, adult education centre Hawkwood College, MINA Housing Co-operative (Members In Need of Accommodation) in Bristol and homelessness charity PATH (Plymouth Access to Housing).

Every Triodos borrowing customer benefits from an assigned relationship manager to support them and their growth plans. Larger loans are also available from the bank to other organisations and groups delivering positive social, environmental or cultural impact.

Rob Keegan, head of small business lending at Triodos Bank UK said: "I have been inspired by the forward-thinking strategies that Triodos employs and the way it lends for positive impact. Even though I've worked in banking for over 29 years, being associated with an ethical and transparent bank which focuses clearly on the needs of society is a new experience for me. I'm excited to have joined such a unique and committed organisation, and I look forward to using my experience to support many more customers who are seeking to operate in a sustainable and responsible way."

Rebecca Pritchard, head of business banking at Triodos Bank UK said: "Rob brings a wealth of experience, passion and leadership to the business banking team at Triodos. He is the perfect person to implement our goals of supporting sustainable SMEs which are the lifeblood of the UK economy."

Meanwhile, Triodos Bank continues to invest in growing a team of specialist relationship managers dedicated to helping businesses and organisations achieve positive impact.

A Social and Cultural lending team specialises in arranging finance for charities, housing associations, healthcare organisations, arts projects and spiritual groups. Recent appointments in that team include:

  • Paul Nicoll as team leader,
  • Phillip Bate as senior relationship manager, and
  • Oliver Baxter as relationship manager.
