Gary Page, Chair of the Triodos Bank UK Board, said: “These two new appointments are in line with our ambitions to strengthen our governance and increase the Board’s size and areas of expertise. Alessandra has more than 25 years’ experience across banking, asset management and rating agencies. She is currently Director of Financial and Strategic Risk at NatWest, having previously held senior positions at Nordea Bank in Copenhagen and HSBC Europe in London. Her extensive risk management experience also includes positions at Moody’s, Invesco, JP Morgan and the Bank of England. Alessandra holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick.

Gary added: “Alessandra is very aligned with the mission and values of the bank, with wider activities related to sustainable finance and climate risk management. Her extensive risk management skills and prudential risk governance experience are set to be incredibly valuable to TBUK, particularly given the risk-based challenges in the current economic environment.”

Speaking about her appointment, Alessandra commented: “I am delighted to join the Triodos Bank UK Board as the new iNED. I have a strong alignment with the work that the bank drives in making a positive difference to society. Becoming an iNED for the bank is a fantastic opportunity to combine my experience in risk management with my passion for social causes. I look forward to working with Triodos Bank UK co-workers and my fellow Board members.”

Sian Williams has been Triodos Bank UK’s CRO since January 2021. Prior to this, Sian had spent 16 years at Lloyds Bank in various senior risk and compliance roles, including four years as Risk Director of the bank’s International Wealth business unit.Sian brings over 20 years' financial risk and regulatory experience, gained working in the private and public sectors, both in the UK and internationally. She holds a Masters in Finance and an Economics degree.
