Triodos Bank UK has been named in the Top 50 Inspiring Workplaces in the UK & Ireland, as part of the Inspiring Workplaces awards.

The awards recognise organisations that put people at the centre of what they do and create a positive and inspiring workplace for all, with hundreds of organisations in the running this year.

Triodos Bank, which comes in at number 21 in the list, is a sustainable bank that offers a range of savings and current accounts, as well as investments and business lending. Since launching in the UK nearly 30 years ago, the bank has operated as a purpose-driven organisation, helping individuals and organisations to use their money in ways that benefit people and the environment.

The bank has its UK headquarters in Bristol, with over 300 co-workers either based in the city, at hubs in London and Edinburgh, or remotely.

The Inspiring Workplaces judges looked at numerous areas across the shortlisted organisations, including their culture and purpose, leadership, focus on wellbeing, approach to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and employee voice and experience. Triodos Bank was recognised for its communication, continuous listening, and commitment to the development of co-workers.

Catherine Ridd, director of HR at Triodos Bank UK, said: “We’re proud to be recognised for what we do at Triodos to foster an inclusive, engaging and connected culture in which our co-workers can thrive. Each and every one of our co-workers plays a role in delivering our mission and is key to the success of the bank. With this in mind, we are committed to continuing our journey of building an inclusive and inspiring workplace where everyone in our community feels they belong, are valued, and can be their best at work.”

Triodos is a certified B Corporation and recognised as an accredited Living Wage employer, Disability Confident Level 1 ‘Committed Employer’ and a corporate sponsor of Women in Banking. As well as this, the bank signed the ‘Time to Change: Mental Health Action Plan’ and is a signatory of the Women in Finance Charter and Women in Business Charter.
