How do I dispute a card payment?
If you have a problem with a card payment, like a cancellation, refund, or incorrect amount, it’s usually best to talk to the shop or company first. This is often quicker and sometimes you must do this before you can start a dispute.
If you still need to dispute (challenge) the payment, keep any messages or proof from the shop or company. This will help your case.
If you notice a card payment on your account that you don’t remember making, or don’t recognise, please freeze your card. You can do this in the Triodos Mobile Banking App or in Internet Banking.
Sometimes, the shop or companies name on your bank statement may be different from the shop’s name. Try searching for the name you see and think about any subscriptions or free trials you have started lately. Sometimes, free trials start charging you after a while.
If you have checked all this and still don’t know what the payment is, log in to Internet Banking and go to your list of transactions. There, you will find a 'dispute' button. Click this and follow the steps to dispute the payment.
