Screen scraping happens when you allow a third party to log into your computer while you are using it, so they see what you are doing and can copy the data on the screens you are viewing. This is a way for third parties to be able to get access to your payment data or account overview.
Triodos Bank is not in favour of this practice, as it potentially compromises the integrity of your own computer and your passwords.
Yes, cheque books are not issued automatically as we understand that some customers do not require them. If you would like to order one please call our contact team on 0330 355 0355 to request one or send a secure message in Internet Banking.
Your old bank will close your old account as part of the switching process. This ensures that any payments made to your old account are automatically redirected to your new account. If you want to, you can switch and keep the old account open, but you won’t be able to use the Current Account Switch Service.
You will be able to continue using your old account up to and until your switch date, when your funds will be transferred to your new account.
You can send your Triodos Digipass back to us for recycling, using our freepost address – simply write ‘Freepost TRIODOS BANK’ on the envelope (you do not need to attach a stamp). Yes, as long as both parties agree to the switch and you are switching to another joint account. It is not possible to use the service to switch a joint account to a sole account.
Triodos will be offering Open Banking services from 14 September 2019, enabling providers to integrated their apps and tools with our systems via their API. The Current Account Switch Service makes switching current accounts to Triodos Bank from another UK bank or building society simple, reliable, and stress-free.
The whole process takes only seven working days and is completely free. It is also backed by the Current Account Switch Guarantee.
This service provides all the following benefits:
The debit card is made from a 'natural plastic' of compacted renewable resources such as plant leaves and corn. The card itself is now believed to have the strongest environmental credentials of any debit card in the UK market. Only the chip and strip are not recyclable.
We are part of the Current Account Switch Service so customers can switch current accounts to Triodos Bank from another UK bank or building society quickly and easily.
Yes, bank accounts that include an overdraft can switch using the Current Account Switch Service, but you’ll need to have set up an overdraft with us. If you’d like to set up an overdraft please get in touch and we will be able to advise if you’re eligible for one, dependent on our lending criteria and your credit status.
Yes, you can choose and agree a switch date with us. Just make sure you allow seven working days for the switch to take place and that your chosen date isn’t a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday.
The Triodos Mobile Secure Key is more convenient than the physical digipass or a username/password combination. It provides a safer and securer way to access and manage your accounts due to its two-factor authentication method. Requiring something you ‘have’ (the Triodos Mobile Banking App with the Mobile Secure Key) and something you ‘know’ (the passcode) or something you ‘are’ (fingerprint, face recognition depending on what your mobile device supports).
If you have a physical digipass, the Mobile Secure Key would replace it. This means you can send your Triodos Digipass back to us for recycling, using our freepost address – simply write ‘Freepost TRIODOS BANK’ on the envelope (you do not need to attach a stamp). We have partnered with a Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recycling Scheme and will safely recycle all digipasses.
To change your setting for SMS/text messages please log in to your Internet Banking and use the quick links in ‘Self service’ then ‘Settings’ to visit your Account Profile in old Internet Banking. Here you can click on ‘Mailing Settings’ to amend your text notification settings and then save the changes.
It’s best to cut your card into pieces, making sure to cut through the chip and magnetic strip and put the card in with your normal waste, rather than your recycling. It will still biodegrade more quickly than any other debit card plastic. If possible, don’t put all the pieces of the card in the same bin or with any related documentation such as receipts or statements.
Yes. The Triodos Mobile Secure Key is an easier and more secure way to log in and authorise payments. However, you can continue to use your current login and authentication method if you prefer.
