The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is a UK body which gives you automatic protection up to £85,000 if your bank, building society, or credit union goes out of business.
Your eligible deposits with Triodos Bank UK are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the FSCS. An eligible deposit is money in accounts such as current and savings accounts, including cash ISAs. With Triodos, this will also cover cash held in investment accounts but not the investments themselves.
Please note that the £85,000 will apply to the total of all eligible deposits with Triodos Bank rather than per account or product. Any deposits over this amount are unlikely to be covered.
For more information, please visit the Triodos FSCS webpage.

For joint accounts, the instruction must be signed by both account holders.
The new nominated account must be a personal sterling account held in your name(s) with another UK bank/building society or an existing Triodos UK account that allows you to transfer in funds.
We will not be able to process any written instructions unless we hold your signature on our records.
If you have not returned the signature reply form enclosed with your welcome letter sent to you when you first opened the account, please do so with your request to amend your nominated account. We may send further documents for you to sign to your registered address with us or request documents from you as an additional security measure before we will process your request.

Normally instructions given in internet banking to make a payment from your Triodos Cash ISA, Triodos Saver or Charity Saver account will only be carried out after the expiry of the notice period on your account. Any attempt to schedule a payment before then will be rejected.
If for any reason you need to withdraw your money earlier than the notice period, you will need to write to us by post or secure message in internet banking.
We will charge you the interest due on the amount withdrawn for the part of your notice period for which you have not given notice. So if you withdraw £500 on 15 Calendar Days’ notice from an Account set up on 33 Calendar Days’ notice, then a charge equivalent to the interest you would have earned on that £500 for 18 Calendar Days (i.e. 33 - 15) will be deducted from your Account.
For Fixed Rate ISAs withdrawals are not allowed until maturity. The only exception to this is if you close the account and/or transfer the full balance to another ISA. Early closure will result in an early access charge being applied equivalent to a number of days of interest.
2 year term – 180 days’ interest
3 year term – 270 days’ interest
The charge will be taken from the account balance, so you may get back less than originally deposited. In exceptional circumstances the early access charge can be waived at our discretion.
Using the Mobile Secure Key is more convenient and means you and your money are better protected from fraud.
During activation, you provide a photo of your ID and a video of your face to verify it is really you - the digital equivalent of an ‘in-person’ identity check at a high street bank.
These are linked to your Mobile Secure Key and the devices you have set it up on, ensuring no one else can set up or use your Mobile Secure Key on their device.
If you have a physical digipass, the Mobile Secure Key will replace it. This means you can send your Triodos Digipass back to us for recycling, using our freepost address – simply write ‘Freepost TRIODOS BANK’ on the envelope (you do not need to attach a stamp). We have partnered with a Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recycling Scheme and will safely recycle all digipasses.
A nominated account is an account in your name(s) with either another bank/building society, or an existing Triodos account that allows you to transfer funds.

No, as the account is a savings account, and not a current account, it is not possible to have standing orders and direct debits with an Online Saver Plus.
While setting up your Mobile Secure Key you provide two things:
1. Photos of your ID
To verify your identity and match the details to those we have for you. A fraudster couldn't use their own ID, as their details will not match the information we already hold. The photos you take are from different angles so we can identify fake documents and ensure no one else is attempting to access your account.
2. A live recording of your face
To compare this to your ID, and confirm that it is you activating your Mobile Secure Key. This prevents a fraudster from gaining access to your accounts using a fake copy of your ID. This is a digital version of an ‘in-person’ identity check that happens at a high street branch of a bank.
Then you simply choose a passcode which will be linked only to the devices you have set up your Mobile Secure Key on. This means that no one else can use your passcode to get into your accounts on their device.
Your ID photo and selfie recording will be held and protected by Triodos Bank and our digital identity verification partner, Fourthline. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information and our Privacy Policy for how we hold and protect your data.
To see what consents are active on your account, log into Internet Banking and go to ‘Account Profile’ and then ‘Open Banking Consents’. If you use our mobile app you can find this under ‘More’, ‘Preferences and privacy’.

We ask you to complete an ISA declaration when making a choice for your maturing fixed rate cash ISA in Internet Banking so that you are able to make current tax year’s subscriptions to your ISA if you would like to.
You are not obliged to subscribe to that cash ISA after completing the declaration and can choose to subscribe to a different ISA if you want and you are eligible to do so (as long as you don’t breach the ISA rule of only subscribing to one of each type of ISA in a tax year).
By completing an application for any of our Personal Savings accounts online you are automatically registered for Internet Banking and can manage your account online.
If your application was made by post, then Internet Banking access is available for the following Personal Savings accounts:
You can also access Triodos Right Start Saver and Junior ISA accounts online, but you can't make payments from these accounts.
If you want to apply to manage your existing Triodos account online, download the application form below or call us on 0330 355 0355 and we'll send you one. Before completing an application form, please ensure you have read our Terms and Conditions for personal savings accounts below.
There are several ways to log in depending on what type of account you have.
Start by going to our website www.triodos.co.uk and in the top right-hand corner you'll see a link for "Log in" to Internet Banking.
If you’re a Personal Savings or Investments customer, you will only need your username and password.
If you’re a Current Account customer you will need your digipass (the green pin pad), the PIN to your digipass (which you set yourself), and details regarding the security word you set up when applying for the account.
